Val Curone
The “Val Curone” is a small Apennine valley in the province of Alessandria, on the border between Piedmont and Lombardy, in which flows the homonymous stream.
This valley is part of the culturally homogeneous territory, characterized by common customs and a repertoire of very old music and dancing.
Main instrument of this area is the pipe (popular oboe and double reed) who is accompanied by accordion.
The piper-accordion duo is an integral part of many festivals that liven up the country during the summer months. Typical product of the valley are truffles, both white and blacks.
