Novi Ligure
Novi Ligure is a city in the province of Alessandria. Formerly known simply as "Novi". It is now an active commercial and industrial reality, and the main town “Novese”, the territory from which the town takes its name.
Resort of the rich Genoese families in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, the city's historic center is characterized by the presence of numerous rich and sometimes decorated palaces. Novi Ligure is famous for being the birthplace of two champions of Italian cycling: Constante Girardengo and Fausto Coppi.
In 2003 was inaugurated the Museum of “Super Champions” (from the nickname by the two great cyclists were called), an extensive exhibition of 3,000 square meters dedicated to the history of cycling, cycle racing and the two champions.
